Name That “Thing”
Yesterday I was out thrift-store shopping again (no, I don’t need an intervention just yet). But I have to say, I love that I’ve been able to find so many great pieces lately. And yesterday, I found one of my favorites so far–if only I knew what it really is.What this golden plastic beauty was in her past life, I don’t know, but she’s going to be gorgeous in her new one. All I know is that she was $4 & fabulous. And as soon as she gets a little makeover, she’s going to be hanging in my closet as my new jewelry cabinet. Isn’t she lovely? Here she is, just as I found her, dust & all. I’m dying to hear your take on this. Who has seen anything like her before? Could she have been a medicine cabinet from the 60’s? Or maybe she actually was a hanging jewelry box. What do you think? Leave your comment below & then check back with me in a few days & see the transformation!Linking to:

I think it was a medicine cabinet too since I don't see anything to hang jewelry from! Cute!
Can't wait to see what you do with it!

What a beauty! I don't know what it was, maybe just a ladies mirror, hidden away in a cabinet so she wouldn't appear vain?? I don't think medicine cabinet because I don't see anywhere shelves would go. And, it looks like something was on the inside of those doors. It could have been a shaving cabinet of some kind. Maybe the man kept his shaving things in it and the mirror was right there for him to then shave? Whatever it was, it has a lot of potential!

It reminds me of a triptych, so I googled it and one of the images was a bathroom mirror. Perhaps the doors once were mirrored and a lady could check her hair and make-up from several angles. Neat find!

I do like it! The lines are awesome. I wonder if it held liquor at some point….hmmm.

I just donated one to our local goodwill – it had mirrors inside and was lined with red velvet. There were hooks for jewelry. We painted it and put it in the children's playhouse, but sadly they've outgrown dress up so off it went to another home.

I have one too! it was from Sara Covertly Jewelry.. found my for 20$ @ a flea market in Texas.
Mine has the original red velvet and I painted mine (the outside) barn red for to match my bedroom décor
FYI : It was a wall set… it has a matching shelf that goes under it
