DIY Mini Valentine Sweaters
For years I have been celebrating Valentine’s Day with you all and sharing lots of fun ideas we all can do to spread the love! But now that I have these two minis, it’s kind-of next level! I could not resist making them some little Valentine sweaters with an initial heart after their name sweaters were so cute on them. And I thought you might like to make a little last minute sweater too!
There are only a few steps! Here are the pieces I used linked with my affiliate links…
If you want to embroider an initial, you’ll need a little embroidery thread as well.
I embroidered the initials first, using 3 strands of embroidery thread. I did a simple rough satin stitch. It’s a little tricky working on chenille, but it works! If you’d like more info on basic embroidery, this is a great source!
Next, I just positioned the heart onto the sweater and sewed it on using clear thread.
That’s it! So simple, really.
These sweaters were a great option for this. They do run a little big, so I got the 6-12 month size for Juliet and Rosie, and we even rolled the sleeves up a bit. They are almost 14 months and currently wearing mostly 12 month sizes.
I recommend hand-washing the sweaters to prolong the life of the patch.
Now I’m wishing I had made myself one to match these two! Hope you like them too!
