Announcing our Latest Addition!

What a summer.  It’s been so full and beautiful and busy, my computer has been left untouched for much of it, and blogging has been swept aside and almost forgotten, to be honest!  But today I’m taking a little time to share one of the biggest joys of the summer, our newest family member! Born to Abby and Beau back in June, was our little James Ryan.

His birth story was one for the books, which I’m sure we will tell for ages to come.  His mama brought him into the world so quickly I almost didn’t get to be there to welcome him!  But, thankfully I was, and once it was over, we were thanking God and looking at Abby with amazement at the same time! So much excitement.

And what a little sweetie he is.  He is loved well everyday by his big sister and cousins and aunts and uncles galore, and that’s after Dave and I have nearly smothered him with kisses and hugs as well.

He has the sweetest little personality already, smiling at the slightest things.

And with what feels like the blink of an eye, we have four grands! Even we cannot express or comprehend all the blessings they bring us.

Also, the Dogwood Cottage now has another beautiful soul to fills its walls with laughter, and this nursery Abby designed for James is so fitting for the house!

Some of you might remember this was the den of the house when we first bought it for the remodel!

Starting with this custom blue and white striped wallpaper from Wunderwall, she added so many cute details inspired by vintage toys and pieces she found.

The Richard Scarry prints and a vintage mobile are perfect over the crib.  And the red table and bookshelf were pieces from her childhood bedroom.

More vintage toys and books add more pops of color.

And small details add so much interest.  We love this sweet little art his Aunt Miriam did for him.

This room still doubles as a guest room for now, but what guest wouldn’t love this space as well?

This little charmer has definitely stolen the hearts of all of us and has made it a sweet summer for yet a million more reasons.
