Our Christmas Tour 2020
I am so excited to finally welcome you to the most wonderful time of the year at our house! I always have so much fun decorating for Christmas and I admittedly spend a lot of time doing it, but it is worth it to make this house a welcome place for all my peeps, and that includes you all! I am thrilled to be joining several other blogger friends as a part of the It’s a Colorful Life Holiday Tour hosted by my friend Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles and Jewel from Jeweled Interiors! I hope you’re stopping here after visiting Rhoda at Southern Hospitality! The rest of the tour participants are listed at the end of this post so you can find them all easily!

There is so much to see so come on in!
If you missed my front porch tour, you can find it here!
We’ll start in the dining room, which might be the most colorful room in the house! This is our first Christmas with the large dining table and we’re keeping it fully extended through the holidays!

Our focal point in here this season is this little village of houses we had a blast making! My Lily and I started with some basic chipboard houses from Hobby Lobby and gave them our own style with some paint and embellishments! Find a similar version of these to start with HERE. I think they’re a great compliment to my Wunderwall mural which you can find HERE!
My candleholders are actually bottles I’ve used in several ways and they work perfectly for tapered candles!
In the piano room, this same color palette continues with our flocked tree…
And more mini houses!

I layered a couple of garlands I had for this look and just added lights and ornaments for a Christmas feel!
No presents under the trees just yet because I still have plenty of shopping to do!
The kids refer to this tree as “mom’s tree” because I decorate it the way I want. But in the family room, it’s all about our family traditions…
This is the tree we go pick out together at the tree farm as our Black Friday tradition and it’s the one that holds all our family ornaments throughout the years. I love this year’s tree because it’s so full and pretty, even before the ornaments!
In the family room, I use my traditional Christmas plaids and colors.

Remember when I made this simple leopard print ottoman slipcover back in the fall? It still works great with the holiday decor!
In the kitchen, I tried to keep things simple and fresh for the holidays, and that did involve some paper crafting, which I love!
Remember the paper leaf wreath I made a couple of weeks ago HERE? I hung it here in the kitchen along with the little Merry Christmas sign I shared on my Instagram stories awhile back!
We also went with a lot of oranges in the decor from the wreath to the dried orange garland we hung over the door! If you’ve never made the dried oranges before, just slice oranges in about 1/4 inch slices and bake at 200º for 4 hours. Makes the house smell good too!
Another simple painting here on the counter makes a great backdrop for mini trees!
And more mini houses make their appearance!
But the highlight of the Christmas kitchen is usually the hot cocoa bar which has become a tradition for the past several years now.
This year’s bar features the holly leaf garland I shared HERE as well as a few more favorites like the santa mugs and the gumball machine, this time acting as a cookie jar!

Another fun addition are these new mugs with a little Christmas tree surprise inside! Find those HERE.
From here is the breakfast room where I got to style my tulip table and chairs for the first Christmas since I got them!

And the little bit of snow we got this week made the perfect backdrop which can be rare for Christmas here in Tennessee!
For the shelves, I painted a nativity inspired by the work of Shields Original which I had spotted at Hobby Lobby. On the little trees I added my tiny “Jesus is the Reason” banners that I made years ago which have been a part of our Christmas for as long as I can remember. May this family never forget to make Him our focus of Christmas and every day of our lives!
I used lots of collected items for the table including these cute 12 Days of Christmas napkin rings which were a gift from my sister!
Ending back at the entryway, the big mirror I used to have in the dining room has made an appearance here. And I’m loving it so much, I may just keep it here awhile!
