Christmas Home Tour 2023
Hello and welcome to my 15th Christmas tour of this house. I have no idea how it’s 15 Christmases already but here we are, and I look forward to welcoming you all into our home each year at this time. Each year, things look a little different on the tour, and this year I’ve been focused more on family life and being present rather than hitting a deadline for this tour, but decorating for Christmas and making this house a home a place to focus our attention on Jesus and joy is a huge part of the season for us so I’m elated to have it ready for you all. (Linking sources when I have them for you in this post, and many are affiliate links which bring a small commission at no extra cost to you.)
I’ve simplified things a little this year and added some new faces (literally) with these new nutcrackers on the front porch! I’m linking them HERE, but I think they are currently only available in the red version. The gift packages are some I made from simply wrapping shipping boxes and I love the way they turned out! You’ll notice I have a lot of blue this year and that’s very likely due to my mind being on our new baby grandson! Have you seen his announcement on my Instagram?
Moving into the foyer, I styled the table and mirror once again with chalk pen lyrics that set the tone for the season and the house this year. If you’ve been around awhile, you’ve seen some of these pieces a few times, and may remember this nativity painting I did a few years ago.
The dining room is set & ready for some fun gatherings between now and Christmas. With our growing family, this room gets cozy with all of us around the table.
Some of my favorite pieces from this room are linked below:
In the piano room, we’ve got a new flocked tree which I am loving! I shared it on Insta but I’m linking it HERE just in case someone is looking for a last minute beauty!
We’ve got our extra little stocking as well for little Jude to go with Juliet and Rosie’s
Velvet bows on the tree were at the special request of Lily, (but I actually had the ribbon ordered before she asked me!) It’s a fun way to add color. And did you spot the topper? That was actually the work of my husband! His idea, which I definitely approved right away because I cannot resist a little extra sparkle.
We are looking forward to some quiet nights at home by this fireplace!
In the family room is our fresh tree with all of our collected family ornaments, which is our tradition.
I’m also using one of my favorite winter art choices on the Frame TV. In case you’re looking for free winter art for your TV, you can find them HERE!
Some of my decor has changed with the newest little family members in mind…
And yet I’m still keeping out some of my traditional breakable items and the girls are enjoying looking at those too!
I can barely stand to type this, but I’m so sad that this Christmas tour is missing Scout since he has been a part of it for years, as he was our daily lives. We’re making it, but we miss him! My mom had found this little likeness of him for us and I think I may just keep it out all year.
In the kitchen, I decided to hang my wreath I made last year because I loved it so much with the lemons and gingerbread. And the Merry Christmas sign I made a few years back has become a classic staple as well!
And of course, there is the hot cocoa bar I’ve put out for more years now than I can keep track of! My kids will never let me quit this. And I don’t want to because I have a whole new group of mini customers I can’t wait to serve in my new tiny gingerbread mugs I found at HomeGoods!
Also- I’m using my little holly garland again. Remember this DIY from a few years ago?
Over in the breakfast room, I did buy this new set of plates for us to use for family dinners throughout the Christmas season because I love how they go with my Christmas village I bought a couple years ago. I don’t have a link for the exact plates, but I found these which are so similar!
In our bedroom– we have the simplest tree ever, which we never decorate because it’s just right how it is!
Thank you for stopping by for this tour once again or maybe for the first time! Now that the halls are decked, I’m looking forward to each day of this season and being ready for all the places joy shows up. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that it’s not always in the most obvious places, ushered in with a grand parade. It’s most often spotted among the humble, on the sidelines, away from the noise.
True Joy is as alive and well today and as ready to be experienced as He was the day He appeared on earth that first Christmas. If ever there were a time to find Jesus for yourself, for real… forever… it’s now, friends! He’s not only the reason for this season, He’s the reason for all of it. That’s my Christmas reminder for you and I pray you experience Him this Christmas and always. From our family to yours- Merry Christmas!
