Easy Chocolate Ganache Pie with Orange Whipped Cream
Some day I’m going to stop talking about the deliciousness of this simple chocolate ganache recipe, but today is not that day. I promise I’ll take a break from it soon because, hello—Pumpkin Spice season is almost here! But for now, I’ve got a super easy ganache pie for you that is almost too easy for its own post.
In case you missed the first ganache recipe I shared, check it out here. In that post, I shared the simple steps of the chocolate ganache, which is just 2 basic ingredients! To recap, here’s what you’ll need:
for the pie:
- one 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup of heavy cream
- one pre-baked pie crust
and for the whipped cream:
- one cup heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 to 4 drops of Wild Orange essential oil or 1 Tbsp orange zest
I used a basic frozen crust, and just followed directions for baking!
Remember the ganache is made by simply heating the 3/4 cup of cream to a boil so it’s nice and hot…
Then simply pour the cream into a bowl over the chocolate chips, and stir until smooth!
Since we’re making a pie in this case, just pour the ganache into the cooled pie crust and then chill well!

The only thing left to do is make the whipped cream! And this part is fabulous as well! Just gather the ingredients for the whipped cream and pour them into a large mixing bowl.
The wonderful orange flavor for this comes from the few drops of Wild Orange essential oil. I use Doterra because it’s what I already have, and you can find it via my affiliate link here. Just another fabulous reason to love essential oils! If you prefer to use orange zest, you can substitute that as well.
Then, just mix away until the cream is totally whipped!
This recipe makes more than enough for one pie, so there will be plenty left over for topping your coffee or pancakes or whatever else you can dream up. Just chill in the fridge until you’re ready to use it. Best if used within 1 to 2 days.
I prefer to wait until serving to top the pie with the whipped cream, and I also add strawberries or raspberries as well! This is definitely a family favorite, and my kids beg me to make this one and over. In fact, this was my husband’s birthday “cake” recently.
As always, I hope you enjoy this and let me know if you try it!
