Wonderful post and one that all mothers wonder about. Jesus has it all under control and He picked you as the perfect parent.

julie, what a gift to read your post this morning as you share your heart. I too have these thoughts and wish when I see them grow in a blink of an eye that somehow time could stand still. But it doesn't and it won't so I need to embrace every single second, dirty socks and all, and trust in god as he has trusted in me that I am the best mom I can be each day I have with them. Your picture with your kids is just lovely.

My wonderful son is now 27 and what you said is still so true. I thank God every day for his gift of this child for me to raise. I'm still in awe of the miracle of my son.
Although I still say to him in a brief moment of panic " Did I ever teach/tell you that ….." – still thinking I missed teaching a few lessons.
Thank you for you wonderful post and God bless you and your beautiful family!

Thank you! So sweet! And our love & influence over them never really ends, does it? 🙂

That was a beautiful piece on parenting. Praying for my children and grandchildren is easy, but me totally giving them over to our Lord for His safekeeping is still difficult. Moms want control.(and this grandma does too)! Thank you reminding us again to let go and let God.

It's hard to do, but we have to! Thanks, Nancy!

What a great post, I too have a son who is a senior this year and have a shed a tear or two over this post. I can vividly remember dropping him off for kindergarten and here we are in a blink of an eye or so it seems embarking on a whole new life. Praying for you as you go through your journey this year and reflectively reminding myself of your words so eloquently spoken. Thank you for reminding me to treasure every moment.

So well said, Julie! My son has four more years at home and sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night in a panic that I'm not teaching him this, or that…thanks for the reminder of what's truly important!
