Lily & Noah’s Wedding: the Day
I never know how to properly convey all the beauty and meaning and emotion of these big events in our lives. Not even a thousand pictures can hold the innumerable words. And you know me– we’ve got thousands of pictures. This blog chronicles over 15 years of our lives which have been shared with the closest of friends and passing strangers, most of the chapters meant as a collection of moments to look back and catch a glimpse of the life we’ve lived in and out of our favorite places. One of those storylines has been Lily, growing and blooming and finding love. And so I try today to share a piece of the day that Lily and Noah officially became The Summers.
It was lovely in every way. Everything we dreamed and planned and prayed for it to be with a beautiful traditional ceremony at a church in our town that has stained-glass and wooden pews, wide wooden doors out of which organ-keyed hymns have whirled for decades. The bride- our girl- gorgeous, and prepared, wearing the same sweet smile as the miniature version of herself that first dreamed of this day… the groom, handsome and ecstatic that the long wait for this moment is almost over. A dad tearfully and joyfully giving the bride away… flower girls shining in their brightest role yet, awaiting pink lollipops at the end of their march. Sisters, brothers, friends, standing in colorful hues to witness the beautiful exchange, (a mom making her own vows not to let the tears escape her eyes), and our own pastor officiating in the most Christ- honoring ceremony that we will remember in Heaven for eternity.

These are a few of the glimpses of what we experienced in the few sacred moments that begin a lifetime for these two.

After the ceremony, we headed to the reception at our favorite familiar venue– Marblegate Farm. We had already spent the day here, enjoying the moment, getting ready, and taking photos. It was the perfect way to make the most of celebrating.

A kiss between us to celebrating another wonderful marriage in our family!

And a fantastic reception full of details designed by Lily in her own style, which I will share coming up next week!

We are so truly happy for Lily and Noah and their new beginning together. You can see more on my Instagram HERE.

These photos are a combination of ones myself and family took of the day as well as professional shots from DeWhit Photography which you can find HERE.
