It’s been a while since I talked about one of my favorite subjects around here: chalkboards! So, I’m just stopping in today with a friendly reminder that chalkboards can be a great addition to almost any space. And since they can be made from all kinds of things, the possibilities are practically endless!

I recently realized I had a sliver of wall space on our screened porch that was begging for a chalkboard, so of course, I had to oblige.

And in honor of Summer’s début, I chalked up a little welcome…

This bistro sign on the clearance aisle at Hobby Lobby was the perfect candidate for becoming my chalkboard…

Since it had a smooth surface, I just sprayed it with a coat of flat back to cover the existing art, then gave it a few coats of chalkboard paint. Then, I taped off the edges of the chalkboard & painted the frame with chalk paint in Old White.

It was literally 3 steps and done.

And, yes, we’re a little excited that school’s out and it’s finally Summer. Yippee!!
