Where do you find good chalk to use for the designs on your chalkboards? The chalk I have doesn't leave nice lines…

I just use basic school chalk in no particular brand. I turn it at different angles to get thick or thin lines. Many people do chalk art on a wet chalkboard for crisp lines, so you may want to try that. 🙂

love chalkboards (yours in particular); have zero artistic talent… what do you recommend to create chalkboards besides the "graft" style that was suggested to me… i want this to be fun-not a dreaded project!

I recommend starting with some inspiration pieces or even just some fonts you like and just try copying them. Take special note of the scale of the letters or elements. The great thing about chalk is that you can easily erase isolated areas if you need to. Practice will help you get better! Your designs may not turn out exactly like someone else's, but they can be just as great. Good luck!

Can you tell me what chalkboard paint you used? I bought some and used it and it is shiny, not like a chalkboard at all. Thanks!
