The Dining Room Reveal at the Dogwood Cottage!
This post sponsored by Benjamin Moore Paints who provided products for this project.
I have to admit this is the part of our renovation journey that’s the most fun to share and I’m sure most of you feel the same way! Now that Abby and Beau are moved in, I can’t wait to show more of the finished spaces as we get them styled! So to give you a refresher on how this space looked when we first bought this house, take a look at this…
We had a pretty cute and handy demo crew of sisters to help us with the wallpaper removal and taking down parts of walls.
So much change has occurred, and I absolutely love to look back and compare the before and afters because we’ve put so much time and love into it all!
The biggest change we had envisioned in this space was a bold color for the built-ins. With special thanks to Benjamin Moore, we were able to find the absolute perfect colors for both the built-ins and the walls and they were very helpful in getting us just the right products! For the built-ins, we chose Palm Trees (642) in the Advance paint in satin. And for the wall color, we went with the Regal paint in Cloud White (967) in eggshell.
The craziest part was when we began to sand some of the damaged areas and got way down to the first layer of paint and realized it matched our new color perfectly! So hard to believe that after almost 70 years, these shelves are back to their original color someone had chosen for them way back then.
It took about 2 coats of the Palm Trees and it was a completely new look! The Advance paint went on smooth and had such great coverage. Love it!
With the floors refinished and trim painted, we’ve had such a transformation!
And we love the Cloud White on the walls as a perfect contrast to the bold built-ins!
And with a nod to the Dogood Cottage name, we added these cute dogwood knobs which we painted gold…
Looking forward to lots of family dinners in this special space in the future and I know Abby and Beau are looking forward to great times with their little family each day here as well.
I’d love to hear what you think of the new look and I’m super excited to share more reveals of the Dogwood Cottage soon! Do you have a favorite part?
