Zellige Tile Knockoff Backsplash: Two Year Update!
So hard to believe that this week marks two years since we first installed the knock-off zellige tile backsplash in the kitchen at the Dogwood Cottage! My original post about it HERE has been one of the most popular projects on the blog in the past two years, so I thought it would be of interest to many of you to hear how it has held up and how we feel about it now.
The short answer? We are still madly in love!! And I love it even more now that Abby and Beau have lived in this home these past couple years and styled it to their taste. The source for the tile via my affiliate link is HERE and we used the white color which you can see in the pictures is a slightly off-white which looks so good!
Abby says there have been absolutely no issues with the tile or the lack of the grout which was a question for some of you in regards to cleaning. We had chosen the non-grouted look to keep with the artisan style Abby loves and it looks so good! See the easy installation process HERE.
Just like most tiles, these are very easily wiped clean and the space in between the tiles could be cleaned with a small brush if the need were to arise.
My favorite properties you will find in these tiles are the pearlescent finish which is so dimensional and pretty while lending itself to that artisan feel. Also, the edges are cut ever-so slightly irregularly to give the impression of that hand-made clay piece while not having to pay the hand-made price.
I would have no reservation doing this exact tile again in any kitchen! In fact, I’ve been looking for an excuse to use it somewhere!
I would love to hear from some of you who have told me you have used this for your own kitchens and would love to see your photos!
And for those searching and considering using this for yourselves, we are happy to try to answer whatever questions you may have. Remember all the details and sources and how-to can be found right HERE and we wish you the best with your project!
