A Rustic Luxe Lake House Tour
Today I have something special for you that’s a little different than my norm, but I’m loving it and I know you will, too! Over the weekend, we got to take a day trip to North Carolina to see my grandmother, who turned 91 years young (did you see her on my Instagram?), and to visit my aunt and uncle at their new lake house! Their joke is that they started out to build a little lake cottage and one thing led to another and somehow they ended up with a luxe lake lodge. And it is fabulous! There are so many design details and beautiful elements to appreciate, and fortunately, they gave me permission to share it all with you! While I don’t have every source for all the things you see, I did find a few ways to shop the look, which I’ve included, so sit back and enjoy this little tour!
From the moment you walk in the front door, it’s a gorgeous scenic view every where you look!
And the open floor plan lets you take advantage of the view while providing a great space to gather!
There are beautiful wood tones in every room, and in the kitchen, this multicolored Fusion Wow countertop from Brazil compliments the wood and stone accents perfectly.
The dining room has too many stars of the show to decide which one is the greatest, but the antler chandelier is definitely near the top of the list!
In the kitchen, the matte black marble backsplash is another of my favorites!
Upstairs, the loft is yet another place to get a gorgeous view, and the long hallway up here leads to a couple bedrooms and my favorite bathroom!
Isn’t this the cutest tub?? I love it! It’s actually not old, but rather a lightweight replica of a vintage aged clawfoot with the perfect patina. Another antler chandelier and barn door are the icing on the cake!
Back downstairs, the master bedroom has its own access to the deck, as well as an amazing master bathroom! Love the stone floor in the shower!
More cute bedrooms and baths provide plenty of space for guests…
Another fave: those adorable lantern sconces!
Down in the basement, there’s plenty to keep you busy! But look how striking the wood paneled ceiling is! It’s actually a drop ceiling which makes it gorgeously functional as well!
So, yeah, there’s a beautiful theater room with luxe recliners as well. (No biggie, right?)
And even a workout room complete with (you guessed it) amazing views!
So, before you ask, no–this is not available for rent. This is their personal home. But, this inspiration is free for you to enjoy! Does this make you want to search for a little lake front property?
Big thanks to my aunt and uncle for letting me share this tour! I know you’ll have many great memories to be made in this beautiful spot!

This is SO beautiful! I especially love the counter tops, the antler light fixtures, and that hanging canoe-what a cute touch!

Where did they get the supplies for the ceiling tiles in the basement?

What a beautiful home! We are in the market for a lakefront home in North Carolina…what lake did they build on? (It must be a nice lake with such a lovely property like your relatives).
