A Thanksgiving Table That’s Merry and Bright
There’s no rule book that says you have to use traditional colors for your Thanksgiving table (or any type of decor!), and since I think every holiday should be merry and bright, that’s what I did for this year’s Thanksgiving table!
Those of you who follow me on Instagram may remember when I went on a hunt and finally found my gorgeous Cynthia Rowley plates from TJ Maxx. Well, I wanted to use those, for sure, so that’s where I started. And of course, there’s almost always going to be some kind of paper on the table, and this time it was a gray and white striped wrapping paper, also from TJ Maxx!
The flowers I chose were some purple lilies, orange roses, and purple mums, which I found at the grocery store for less than $15, with some of the flowers left over for other arrangements. I added a few greens from my yard, as well, and arranged them in a basket of moss I’ve had for years. (I just used some mason jars set inside of it to hold the flowers and water.)
For another natural element, I used some tiny pinecones like I’ve done before to hold some little place card banners (from the Target Dollar Spot).
And just like I did on the kids’ table I showed you here, I couldn’t resist using some more kraft paper and chalk for a little ‘thankful”banner on the mirror!

Like most of my tablescapes, it really was a very simple design, but very cheerful and fun!
Some of you have asked about my buffalo checked pillows– these are two I sewed, but since then, I have found the perfect square buffalo checked pillows for a fabulous price here! You will definitely see more of mine at Christmas!
Since my family will be spread out in different directions for Thanksgiving Day this year, we celebrated with an early Thanksgiving over the weekend and it was a wonderful time with our favorite Thanksgiving foods and great times together.
Being together is the best part, and for that I’m truly thankful! Whether you’re able to be present with your own family this year or not, I wish you a wonderful day of reflecting and giving thanks!
I’ll leave you with one of my dad’s favorite verses, Psalms 126:3 “The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
