WOOHOO! Thanks so much for this! We leave for London in 3.5 weeks with our 4 kids and have not had a minute to plan the details! I am most likely going to copy everything possible that you did!! I looked through both your posts and did not see any advice about what cameras you brought – I saw that you brought your iPhone and I will have that but I am also bringing my dslr – (did you bring one and if so what lens and how did it work out?) also – what did you do about cell phones? We are thinking about buying 2 so if we ever want to go in different directions . . . any advice?? We are also going to Paris so I am looking forward to that post as well!! any advice on adapters for electronics in the different countries?
    Thanks again! xo ellie

How awesome! So excited for you! And glad to know we are not the only crazy people traveling abroad with 4 kids! đŸ™‚ About the cameras–after a lot of thought, I decided not to bring my big camera due to all the traveling and the fact that I didn't want to lug it around. We had only our iPhones (which did a good job) and my son's GoPro, which captured a lot of great shots for us as well. I know it's a big decision! And as far as our phones, we changed our plan for the month to accommodate us for international use. You will want to contact your service provider and just ask what they have to offer. Well worth a few extra dollars to have the extra data if needed for navigating, etc. We did this for all 4 phones (mine, my husband's, and 2 teens) because we did want the security if we got separated, which was never a problem. Adapters: you should not have any trouble at all finding them. Target carries them as well as Amazon. I recommend 2 at least, especially if you will be in 2 hotel rooms, like we always were. Also, it's great to bring along an extension cord with extra outlets on it to plug into it so more things can be plugged in at once! Please feel free to email me if you have any questions at all about London or Paris! I will try to help you out however I can!

I love your list, some of these are on ours too (though since we live here now, we have plenty of time to explore them all). The one my kids are most excited for are Buckingham Palace (we have tickets for an August tour), and the London Eye (which I am not excited about as I don't like heights). I took them to 221B Baker St yesterday (since they are big Sherlock fans, the tv show version from BBC that is), and it is hugely disappointing. It looks nothing like it at all, and is purely dedicated to the expensive to enter tourist trap Sherlock Holmes book museum. Definitely a MISS! A fun way to people watch is simply hop on a city bus bound for Oxford Circle. It moves so slow down the main streets because its so nuts, you have plenty of time to people watch, especially if you snag the front row on the top. The bus tour you mentioned is definitely worth it (we did it back in 07). I love the hop-on hop-off style so you can look at your own pace. We walk our dog daily in Hyde Park, and its such a lovely spot to see a few statues (there are 2 Peter Pan statues in the park) and just take some down time and relax. There are a few Patisserie Valerie's scattered around and they are nice for an afternoon tea (Cafe Nero is also a great spot for an on-the-go coffee alternative to Starbucks).

We will pass Jamie Oliver's restaurant everyday during the school year, as my kids school pick-up is just across the street and down a block. I've never been inside though. We've only been here 9 days but so far we are loving living in London! I think it's on my most favorite places list!

Wow! Living in London! I love your tips. Good to know about 221 Baker St. We had thought about going there, but ran out of time. We did got to both Patisserie Valerie & Cafe Nero and loved both. Enjoy London!!
