Framed Jewelry Organizer
Here’s a project I’ve been planning for a while & I finally came across this frame last weekend at the 50% off sale at Goodwill. I had Lily & Lola with me that day & they totally failed to see the potential in this chunky wood frame. In fact, Lily begged me not to buy it, but I had a suspicion it was the perfect size for an empty wall in my closet. And it was only $3.
I loved the burlap detail…

I planned to make the organizer using the same basic principle that I used when making my jewelry cabinet back in March. (If you want to see that, click here.) So, it got a coat of white paint & I covered a thin piece of board cut to size with the rest of my pink silk damask from Paris. It was just enough to fit the frame! Next, I measured & marked the holes where I wanted the hooks to go. My handsome assistant drilled the holes for me while I screwed in the hooks. Click here for a great deal on the hooks!

Love it. And I actually had that same frame with the burlap many years ago. Darn, I wish I'd kept it now. That was before the term 'spray paint' entered my vocabulary 😀
Hope you'll stop by and say hello. We're having a giveaway ♥

It's so much fun! I love seeing your closet…what a great place to get plan your outfits. Thanks for your comment on my piano, someone gave us ours because they didn't want it anymore. The kids had been praying for a piano, so it is valuable to us. And now, thanks to a quart of paint it's even pretty. I'll be looking forward to seeing your black speckled piano transformation someday. Lisa~

Love how this turned out! I made one last year and love being able to see all necklaces and bracelets when I'm getting dressed. That fabric from Paris is gorgeous!!! And love your closet – I could live in there with that zebra bench.

This is such a fun project idea…I'm working on one now, and hope to have my youth group girls make them as a Christmas project this weekend! 2 Questions: Did you just hot glue the fabric to the backer board? And what did you do about the screws sticking through–cut them off, or ??
Thanks!

Hello,
How did you drill the holes? Did you use an actual drill? Also, did you drill from the front straight through the fabric? I've got my board covered with the fabric but now I'm unsure where to go from here. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Yes, use a drill & drill from the front thru the fabric & wood. Feel free to email me if you have further questions!
