Lamp Revamp
What could be more fun in decorating than finding a great lamp like this at Goodwill?Finding it on Half-Off Day. Yes, for $2 plus tax, I had the beginning of a lamp I’ve been waiting to find for a while now. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a good lamp candidate for a French makeover for Lola’s room. (Yes, I’ve still got Paris on the brain.) I loved the details on this one, so I snatched it right up. To start the transformation, I took it apart, sanded it a little to rough it up, and sprayed the parts.
While the lamp parts were drying, I worked on the shade. I started with a plain white one from Wal-Mart and a spool of striped ribbon from Hobby Lobby.
I then sewed 2 lines of gathering stitches on the ribbon so I could make one long ruffle.
After gathering it up, I used my trusty hot glue gun to glue it to the bottom edge. Then I finished the top with one more small piece of ribbon. By the time I finished the shade, the paint was dry, so I put it all back together & here it is. Goes great with her new Parisian Art. If you want to see that, click here.
Sharing this makeover with these great parties. Check them out!

I love that paint color! I used something like that on a lamp, too… is it called Bahama Breeze by any chance?? Love the ruffled ribbon, definitely have to use that somewhere!
