Last week when I found this gorgeous gold thingy for only $4.00 at Goodwill, I snatched it up faster than you can say “What the heck is that?” & dreamt of this transformation all the way home. Then, I gave you all this sneak peek last Friday & asked for your take on its past life. Here’s a little reminder of how she looked when we first met.
Well, I still don’t know for sure what it was, but I do know what it is now: My New Fabulous Jewelry Cabinet.
Here she is in her new home in my closet.
The makeover process included a can of white gloss spray paint, a couple of thin pieces of wood cut to size & covered with exactly $5 worth of this truly divine Candice Olson $50-a-yard fabric that I got on sale, & a few little screw-in hooks. That’s it, Y’all!
Every girl needs one of these fabulous whatchamacallits…and if I ever find another one, I’ll let you know.

I found one of these at a junk store last year. I bought it and put it in storage with the rest of my 'treasures'. LOL I have been planning on getting to it one day and now you have really inspired me. I love your blog and I just starting following. Whenever I re-do mine, I will let you know. Thanks. I think your watchamacalit is beautiful. I am still looking for the perfect watchmacalit for all my jewelry. Doubt I will find one of these, however once again inspiration, that I can turn just about anything into the perfect jewelry organizer. Thanks Julie!!

I love what you did with it!
It turns out that it was originally a jewelry armoire, circa 1973, made in New York by Syroco/Dart Industries for Sarah Coventry.
Go figure!
It was destined for this fabulous new life you’ve given it!

It's lovely. Judging by the inside I'd say it was a triptych cabinet and that it once housed three images or pictures.
