Anthropologie-Inspired Rose Pin Tutorial & Giveaway
Countdown to Valentine’s Day: Day 11!It’s Valentine’s Day, in case my recent posts haven’t driven that home yet. Something about this time of year just makes me want to add a little romance to everything. Even my wardrobe.And what’s more romantic than a classic rose pinned on your favorite shirt or jacket? Anthropologie has some cute little roses right now that come in a bunch of colors. I love this coral one:
It’s not a bad deal for $18, but I like the sound of “free” better, so I decided to sew one myself out of some scrap silk fabric. It’s really easy! Here’s how to do it if your wardrobe is looking for romance, too.1.) Start with a strip of fabric that measures approximately 42″ long & 5 ” wide. I like silk, but this will work with almost anything. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, & press it flat with an iron.
And because I got a little carried away with this project, I made an extra rose out of some leftover drapery fabric to give away to one of you.
