Dining Table Drama: The Continuing Story
It’s time for another episode in the real-life drama that has been unfolding in our dining room for the past few months! Several of you have been asking what’s the latest, and others of you (I’m sure) wishing I would stop talking about it! Well, now that the holidays have settled, we settled on a decision as well! Here’s our old Craigslist table, still in the dining room.
And here’s the new table we’ve ordered ….
Find the source and details via my affiliate link HERE. It’s due to arrive in a few weeks, and we are definitely keeping our fingers crossed that there are no issues with this one! The scoop is that the other table we had chosen was actually inaccurately described on the site and it was not the size we thought it was. That’s why it was never the right size both times it was delivered! This table can actually extend to even longer than the the other and the (the best part!) — it’s about a third of the price! So, we are excited and hopeful that this will be the happy ending to this saga that we’re looking for! But there’s a second story line developing as well… remember our breakfast room, which is our main dining area off the kitchen?…
Well, I started thinking dreaming as I was searching through so many dining room tables and I found a gorgeous round one that I feel like would bring this space to life…
Is this dreamy or what?? I am always gaga over gold and especially combined with marble. But I’m also paranoid of elements like marble that require special care. So when I spotted this table with a faux marble top at a fraction of the price of real marble, I fell in love for sure! (You can find the source and details of this one via my affiliate link HERE.) And with a more modern table, naturally I had to go with more modern chairs. (eek!) So I went to work again and found some I hope will be everything I’m envisioning!…
What do you think?? I know, I know– so modern! And upholstered! But I’m ready for something like this. And these were a fabulous deal as well! Find the details on these via my affiliate link HERE. The reality is, I have been saving for awhile for some updates for the house and I was able to get both of these tables, plus the new chairs for a few dollars LESS than that one original table we had wanted for the dining room! And if you’re wondering what we’ll do with the current tables, we’ve got two engaged couples needing furniture soon so it’s a win for all of them too!
I am making changes in this house at a crazy rate since the beginning of the new year, but it’s time! If you’re following me on Instagram, I’ve been sharing some big changes in the kitchen and I’ll bring it to the blog very soon! Stay tuned for the table story big finale. (I hope!)
