A Little Visit to Glitterville
So often I love sharing cute shops and inspiring points of interest I think my readers would like when I travel, but sometimes I get to share some pretty fascinating places that are near to my home as well! One of those fun places recently opened in Knoxville and I had to share it with you all! Welcome to Glitterville…
Walking in here is like walking straight into the dreams of a creative, whimsical, fun-loving personality! And since that describes many of us, here, I know you’ll love this! The magic starts before you even walk into the gorgeously-gilded imported French door as you get to turn a key to ring the bell! How fun is that?!
That’s when you know it’s going to be an all-you-can-eat buffet of eye candy.
This is a party planners paradise of smiling sculptures, gilded treats, and sparkling trinkets that will make you oooh and ahhh and “oh my stars!” throughout your visit.
This is the home of some of the creativity of designer Stephen Brown who is an East Tennessee native. Formerly a costume designer in New York, he now lives for making every day a holiday through dreaming up these whimsical designs and sharing them with the world. He is also known for designing magazine covers, including for Oprah Magazine, as well as judging TLC’s Craft Wars and many other creative ventures. He now travels the world much of the time, making his inspirations some to life with a prototype, then finding artisans around the world to reproduce them.
My friend, Brooke, and I brought our kids along on our visit and every one of us was enamored with all the fun packed into one shop. This local Knoxville studio is just one location to find all of these treasures. They can also be bought online HERE. And a few other products can be found at Anthropologie and Amazon below…
There is so much to see and even workshops available at limited times which I’d love to try in the future! How cute is this studio workspace?!
And we couldn’t leave without a pic with a replica of Stephen’s famous pet chicken, Dolly!
So, local friends and visitors passing through East Tennessee, we recommend a good glitter fix at Glitterville. Have you been yet??
