A Little Fall Tour With Big Color
So, I’m a little behind on the fall tour this year I think, but since fall is a little behind on the fall temperatures here in Tennessee, I guess we can call it even! I’ve already shared a few shots from around the house on Instagram, but here’s what else is going on with a few shopping sources included, for those looking to shop!
I’ve been in a little bolder mood than usual for fall this year, starting in the piano room! In here, I just switched a few things around and shopped the house and purchased just one new element, and that was the floral art on the mantle–a 50% off deal from Hobby Lobby!
One new trick I tried was removing the back cushion from my white chairs so I could fit double throw pillows instead of just one! More opportunity for color and pattern and an easy look to change up!
And bold vibes are still going strong in the dining room with my new mural! So much so, that very little other decor is needed, so a few pumpkins on the table with some striped linens brought just the feeling of fall I was looking for in there…
In the family room, more pops of color and mixing of patterns to keep things fun!
And since letter boards are still one of my favorite things for any season, I put them on display in their full fall glory in the kitchen!
Recognize the wreath chalkboard on the mantle? I just flipped it up to stand vertically, then layered it with another letter board so I could have some height that I needed for this shelf! Also– I made another quick leaf garland as well because they’re just so fun! Find the chalkboard instructions HERE and the garland how-to HERE. And an easy DIY letter board similar to this one is HERE!
And lastly, I gave the breakfast room a fall look with a new table runner (just a cut of fabric from Joann’s!), and a quick hoop wreath makeover. A quick hoop wreath how-to can be found right HERE.
Also– added a dose of new buffalo check with new pillows for the settee!
If I could take my own advice and “stay in” for a day or so, I will get the porches ready! Hope your fall is off to a great start!

Hey, Laura! I am in Knoxville too! My favorite Tennessee town. And yes, the dining room is a mural. It is a removable customized wallpaper! See this post for all the details!

Julie,
What is the color on the walls of your kitchen? I currently have white cabinets like you, but tile counters and want to change to soapstone or a dark granite. I love the way your kitchen looks!!
