Christmas Tour 2017!
Welcome, friends! So glad to have you for my favorite post of the year! I always have a blast decorating for Christmas, and it’s so fun sharing it with you all. This year, I’m joining up once again with several other bloggers for the 12 Days of Holiday Homes sponsored by Lynch Creek Farm! I already shared all about my gorgeous wreaths and my Christmas porch here if you missed it. It’s not too late to order your own wreath as well! And be sure to visit all the gorgeous tours for the 12 Days of Holiday Homes at the end of this post! Now, come on in!
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that we cut down our own tree for the family room this year! It’s a Cypress, which is different, but I really have liked it! Plus, it’s the biggest we’ve ever had, so it makes quite a statement in here…

Remember my new blue chair? I coudn’t wait to decorate it for Christmas, and it fits in perfectly in here!
And my favorite sofa is easy to switch up for Christmas with a few pillows!
After searching around for stockings, I finally settled on sewing these myself, and it’s no surprise since I always manage to get some black and white stripes in every room it seems! (Falalalala pillow and throw from Marshall’s.)
On the mantel this year, I kept it very simple and just added some string lights for a nice glow! My large lanterns are these in brass, and I added a simple wreath and ribbon for Christmas!

Our marquee star on the top of the tree is back by popular demand from the kids and I do love it up there! That same one is sold out, but here is a similar one available now!
Keeping Jesus at the center of it all, I have our large nativity set on this tray in the family room this year, and I love how the sunlight shines right on it from the window in the morning!
Our family room tree holds all our special ornaments from through the years, and I love our new Tennessee one from this year!

In the breakfast room, it’s buffalo checks and stripes!
And I switched up my hoop wreath once again by adding 3 little nutcrackers from the Dollar Tree and a little “Be Merry” banner I made from letters! Buffalo checked ribbon can be found here. I love how it turned out! Click here for the original how-to for this wreath. So easy!
On our cafe shelves, I kept it very simple with a little garland, a wreath I painted, and my letter board in a frame I had (I got this idea from my friend Heather at Southern State of Mind!). Find the gold letters for your letter board here!
And remember my little chalkboard banner how-to here? I thought it would be perfect with a little Christmas chalkboard art! I added a little wood bead garland for the occasion as well.
In the kitchen, I’ve got more chalkboard art, which you may be seeing again soon, so stay tuned!
(This post contains affiliate links which help to support this blog.)
I made this chalkboard from black foam core board, like this one, which I cut to size and placed in a frame! Yes–it’s eraseable! I also got this new buffalo checked rug for this space and I love it!
Another framed letter board states my sentiment exactly, and some mini wreaths and ribbons make it feel festive in here! (Find the white letter board for a steal here!)
On the other side of the room, I have my favorite spot–the hot cocoa bar!
With more letters and some simple trees, this bar is ready for serving up some hot cocoa!
And fresh flowers and fruits are always some of my go-to favorites for decor in any season…

In the dining room, I wanted to just keep it simple, and I ended up with a sort-of vintage Christmas feel!
I bought a few new items, like this candle holder and these place card holders. And I used them along with my turquoise and white scalloped plates.
I used the same tablecloth from Thanksgiving (here) along with the green velvet runner I had used as well.
A few other elements include this Kate Spade scalloped runner and my favorite flocked tree I had shared on my Facebook page a few weeks ago!
Another simple chalkboard with a reminder of why we celebrate is the main focus on the buffet.
The lighted flocked garland is this one here, and this rug is available here.
I continued the same color scheme in the piano room, and I’m loving the bright colors in here for a little change from last year.
I kept the mantel very simple and similar to what it was for Thanksgiving when I made this paper garland, and I used the same fur wreath I’ve been using for years now.
And on the sofa, I grabbed every shade of green pillows I had in the house and put them together and somehow it just worked!
For something a little different this year, I’m using my bar cart as a gift cart instead of putting all the gifts under this tree.
And on the tree, I used a combination of vintage and new ornaments in some bright colors to match the rest of the decor. My mom and I decorated this tree together this year and we laughed about how we had a “mauve” tree for years when I was growing up and my brother hated it because he called it a “Mom Tree”. Well, I guess I’ve got a Mom Tree of my own now, but thankfully my kids are fine with it since we have the other one!
My signature move at Christmastime seems to be to put a wreath on everything, so even the new powder room got one.
And I always find a place for this little Jesus is the Reason wreath because I want it to be a part of our Christmas decor each year. But these are more than words– they are a reminder that none of this matters if we forget about Christ. I hope you know and remember Him as well this Christmas and through every day of your life.
As always, I’m honored you’ve stopped by and come with me through another tour! I’d love for you to visit the other bloggers in the 12 Days of Holiday Homes to see what inspiration they’ve put together for you! Enjoy! And Merry Christmas, friends!

Julie,
I always love reading your blog, but this particular entry may be my favorite! I love your elegant style and how well you make your Christmas decor reflect your Christian beliefs. I need to do a better job at that.
I loved the felt board you linked and immediately went to Walmart to buy one. Who can pass up a $10 letter board!!! I love it!!! My husband has been out of town all week and I already prepped the board with a message welcoming him home later tonight. I will definitely be getting more letters like the gold ones you also linked. And, I also saw where another blogger spray painted her same board and turned the frame yellow. I would have never thought to do that.
Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas,
April
