Oh Julie – you’ve celebrated the life of your dad mixed with the grief of losing him in such a beautiful way. And though we have only shared brief conversations, seeing how you live out your faith in Christ here in this space is such grace. I know your daddy would be so proud of you and what you’ve done with what God has given. Praying for you and your family this Christmas!

What a beautiful testament to your dad!!! You and your family, friends, and his congregation were lucky to have him in your life. I know it’s the way life is….the circle of life…people pass and babies are born. Still difficult – because we miss them so much – especially around The Holidays. The only comfort is knowing they are truly in a better place and that one day, we who believe in HIM, will be reunited with our loved ones in Heaven.

What a wonderful letter. My dad left for Heaven nearly 5 years ago. We all miss him dreadfully but know he is praying for us, and we really feel those prayers. God Bless you this Christmas, a very special time on the church calendar.

So very sweet, Julie. Thank you for sharing your most tender emotions. Sobbing as I read – my dad is sick too and such a great reminder to cherish each day and especially the holiday. So thankful for the promise of eternity as believers. Love and prayers to you for a wonderful Christmas, celebrating our Savior’s birth, enjoying those kids home and being together!

Oh my, Julie, this post brought a lot of tears! Just like you, I lost my father in 2012 from lung cancer…reading your post was like reading my own thoughts. It has been 4 years, and we still remember him in almost everything that we do, esp. the major decisions that we have to make. The grief will really ease up, but the memories forever stay. Merry Christmas to you and to your family!

There are so many of us tied together via this mutual grief. It helps to have people who understand. Merry Christmas! Enjoy your memories as well!
