Melody’s Master Bedroom Reveal!
Yay! The big day is here! After just 3 weeks, the winner of the Update My Space Contest has a new, updated look in her Master Bedroom thanks to The Home Depot, Home Decorators Collection, and the votes of so many of you!
Remember Melody’s room when she entered it into the contest?
Well, here it is now…
Melody painted all of her furniture herself (with help from her family), and I think she did an amazing job. It was the first time she had painted anything of this magnitude, and the results are so rewarding.
Since she took care of the furniture, I got to work on the rest of the room. Several changes in bedding, windowtreatments, light fixtures, and accessories transformed the room into a completely different look. And wedidn’t even change the wall color!
And I know the big question you’re all wondering about: did I stay within the $500 budget? Weelll… almost! The one thing that put me over was the set of ottomans at the end of the bed. Melody had really wanted a bench for the end of the bed, and although Icouldn’t find that, I couldn’t resist splurgingon these when Ifound them on clearance for only $22 each!
I had such a blast doing this room for Melody! And she worked hard on her part to make it happen as well.
There’s so much more to tell, so I’ll be back this week to tell you more about the details of this room and which pieces we bought and which ones we DIY’d.
Meanwhile, I’d love to hear about which part of the room is your favorite!
And if you have a room in your house that needs updating, I’d love to help you with it! Whether you’d like a plan to get you going in the right direction, or hands-on design assistance, I’d love to help. I can help you stay within your budget and get a great space you’ll enjoy. Email me for a customized quote or more information!
I’m sharing this at the Thrifty Decor Chick’s Before and After Party!

We actually are not sure of that. It was painted by previous homeowners. π

Where did you get the comforter? I am looking for white with a chocolate brown border, in a duvet cover.
The room looks great! Good job!
