I have to admit- I really dread cleaning windows. Because, if they’re not done right, they can actually look worse than when you started, and ain’t nobody got time for that.
I’ve tried everything from Windex and other store cleaners, to homemade solutions, but I finally came up with a formula for removing that filmy haze from windows that works just right– without all the streaks!
I’m calling it the 3-2-1 Formula for windows (to help me remember it better).
It’s simply threedrops of blue Dawn, two-thirds cup of water, and one-third cup of white vinegar. (Did I mentionthis only costs pennies per cup?)
Just pour it into a spray bottle and spray away. Be sure to use clean, dry paper towels to wipe the windows clean. Or, use these Scotch microfiber cloths, like I like to use. Whichever you choose, just make sure they’re clean and dry or the dirt just gets transferred back onto your clean windows.
I tried hard to get a before and after picture of the dirty and clean windows, but I realized that’s really hard to do. Can you tell this is the before?…
And here’s the after, of our front door…
You can see another example of the before and after in this shot of my little assistant, hard at work.
