Christmas Tour 2011
I’ve had a great time, once again this year, decorating the house for Christmas. I wish there could be a way to have you all over for some coffee & cookies, but I guess the next best thing is a virtual tour. So, come on in!We’ve got the nativity set front & center in the entryway this year, which I hope reflects the way we celebrate Christmas…by keeping Christ in the forefront of it all.It seems like I always have to incorporate candy & sweets into my decorating somewhere, & this year, they’re in the dining room.Don’t you love those big red & white twisty pops? (Found them at the Dollar Tree!)My girls did a great job on the gingerbread house this year, and we decided our big lantern was a great place to display it.I think the piano room is my favorite room for this Christmas season because of my tree & the story behind it. (Click here to read that if you missed it.)I added just a few more sparkly things to my mantle to go with my mercury glass collection. My favorite part is the bud vase garland my sister made me. (Find it for sale in her shop.) I filled each little bottle with one of the names of Christ. In the family room, I have our traditional stockings we’ve used every year.In the kitchen, I went with simple & classic. Click here to see more of it.Our “Jesus is the Reason” wreath hangs next to the breakfast room where I have my Joy to the World cafe shelves. One last tree in the library has only white lights & my map garland I made last year. And for the less-than-perfect part of my bliss, here’s a sneak peak at the chaos that is my closet about this time every year. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has a mess like this somewhere. Thanks for stopping by! I can’t wait to see the other tours all around blogland. I’ll be linking up with a few of these friends!

Your home looks just lovely, Julie! I love that shot of you at the front door. I have that same wrapping paper container! I use it just for all my Christmas wrap, tissue paper and tags. I used to spread out on my dining room table in the old house, but I've been keeping things pretty neat in the new place. I store the container with everything in it in our guest room but bring it out into the living room when I'm wrapping.

I love your nativity and the significance behind it…AND placed in a prominent area of the home to remind every one.

Looks nice! I have a 'wrapping station' set up in my bedroom that looks very similar, except I'm using a card table. Will be glad when I'm done, and it's nicely put away!

Your Christmas decor is beautiful. My favorite piece is the framed wreath that has the banner Jesus is the Reason for the season. I loved your tutorial about the square wreaths too! Thanks for the magnificent tour.

Your home is beautiful, and beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the sweets in all the different containers, will they last through the season, or will some be eaten along the way?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Love it! Your house is really beautiful, Julie. I especially love your cafe shelves, which is what I use to decorate our living room, since we don't have a mantle. Just like you, I wanted our nativity scene to be prominent in our decor, especially for our kids. I decided to incorporate the advent calendar I made for our daughter right into the nativity scene. The calendar is a little village of houses grouped around the nativity. It's supposed to be Bethlehem :).
