Fall Cafe Shelves
Yay! September is here! And with September comes Pumpkin Spice Lattes… cool, crisp mornings…and re-styling my cafe shelves. I cannot believe it’s been almost a year since my husband made these for me (read all about that here). These shelves have been so fun to change out with each season, and here’s this Fall’s version:
I continued with my book page theme which I creatively & strategically planned out just happened to do because it was cheap.
With one 49 ¢ book from Goodwill, I made 3 wreaths, a garland, and a tree. And I still have like half a book left! Don’t worry, I’m done for now.
So, with the book page theme in mind, I covered some books with smooth black card stock and wrote out this verse with a white crayon to give the appearance of a chalkboard. (Yes, you can actually use chalk, but one little touch will smear your words.)
And just because I’m crazy about owls right now…
This birdcage was born ivory, but ever since I spotted a picture of some turquoise birdcages several months ago, it’s been begging me to spray paint it “Lagoon” by Rustoleum. {Love!}
A framed swatch of one of my favorite fabrics displays our family number…
Project #3 from the thrift store book:
The decided place for the Fall Word Tree…
A basket labeled “Apples”, in case someone’s never heard of these red things…
And my version of a book page wreath {thrift store book project #4}, which I’ll give you more details on later. And I had to keep my old window up for another season, just because I love it. If you missed the story on that back in the Spring, click here.
That’s it! Hope this gives you some inspiration for your own Fall decorating!

This is so adorable and inspiring!! I already feel in a rut with my fall decor, so this was perfect! I have a stark white birdcage that I can't find anything to do with and I love how you painted yours, so now I've got ideas! I actually found you looking for instruction on burlap banners…and I'm glad I did! Thanks 🙂

Julie, your shelves look fabulous. There are so many interesting things to look at but my favorite is your #6 with that great zebra background. Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog…it's a little intimidating starting out and figuring out how this all works! Have a happy Tuesday.
