French Potential
If you read me often, you know that among my latest addictions is that of taking the old & making it new. I am like so many of you. I love finding something that needs work & making it spectacular. And the fact that these things are usually cheap is just an added bonus. But, my latest find is something that I’m amazed by. Last Thursday, I gave you a little peek at this French Sofa from Horchow that I’ve been in love with for a while. Well, Horchow didn’t deliver it, as I had hinted they should. But, just like so many times in my life, the Lord smiled on me just two days later. And as we passed by a house just a mile from ours, my husband spotted this gorgeous thing, sitting on someone’s carport (yes, outside!), waiting for me to find it. After a quick negotiation, it was mine. The price was so cheap, it might as well have been free. And now I get to choose my own fabric, have it re-upholstered, & paint the wood just how I want it. I can’t wait to see this finished! I don’t believe in coincidence. I believe in a God who loves me so much, that no matter how much I don’t deserve it, gives me more than I even knew I wanted. I can’t thank Him enough for all the ways He blesses me. Stay tuned for the reveal! Hopefully coming soon…

Hi Julie. I am so happy about your find but happier about how you blessed me with these words: I don't believe in coincidence. I believe in a God who loves me so much, that no matter how much I don't deserve it, gives me more than I even knew I wanted. I can't thank Him enough for all the ways He blesses me.
I am encouraged in my situation and will therefore be content. Even sofas can bring a revelation of how gracious God is. Thank you!

Thank you for letting me know about your incredible find and for visiting my blog. I hope you will come back again!
I have to say that I have had the same experience. So many times I have thought about something I really wanted for my house and then have found it along the side of the road. Each time I feel blessed and know that I am being cared for even ways that I have yet to fully understand.

It's gorgeous! I can't wait to see it when you're finished.
And Horchow never sends my stuff either – must be their email filters…

This is very cool, I picked one up off the side of the road. We are talking FREE, score. I just purchased the fabric last week. Here is the link to mine. http://judysturman.typepad.com/in_his_grip/2009/08/latest-dumpster-find.html

Oh how exciting! I can't wait to see it finished! Around here, getting something upholstered is so darn expensive. It's actually cheaper to buy new! You are lucky!

I have a similar couch that I was going to get rid of. I may just change my mind.
