Butterfly Art
In the spirit of Spring, & I thought I’d post about my Butterfly Art in my Guest Bathroom. I have big plans for this bathroom. One of these days I’ll actually finish decorating it & show you the rest of it, but for now, this art is the main attraction.
Why do I love it so much? I’m, glad you asked! First of all, it goes with the theme of the room, which is something along the lines of “British Colonial meets Caribbean”. It’s not quite there yet, but it’s on its way.
I also love my butterfly art because it helped me bring in exactly the colors I wanted in the room. I used my handy butterfly punch by The Paper Studio that I bought at Hobby Lobby. Then I just chose whatever papers I wanted to use that had the colors & patterns I was going for. I even used some pages from a few magazines & you guessed it–my Pottery Barn catalogs.
Did I mention the third reason I like this project was because it was cheap?

To create the art, I found these frames at Hobby Lobby that had a little extra space between the matting & the glass. I used a special “swiss dot” textured scrapbook paper for the background, then just glued the butterflies on carefully, folding the wings a little to make them 3-dimensional.
Does this look familiar? You may remember when I did this technique on the wall in my daughter’s room. Click here & here to see the butterfly art in her room. I’m linking this to these really fun parties. Check them out! Then, be sure to visit me here for a giveaway that you will not want to miss!!!
