Used is the New New
(photo credit)Yes, used is the new new. And I’m a design genius for stating the absolute obvious. I was at Goodwill again today. Bought something else to feed my growing addiction to taking someone else’s junk and making something out of it. (Yes, I’ll take plenty of pictures & share the whole exhilarating process with you later.) And I’m just one in a million other thrift-store-loving, spray-paint-buying, design-blog-stalking, crazy kind of girls who can’t get enough before & afters. Who out there can relate? We would so be friends in real life. But, this obsession I’ve noticed in myself & some of you (don’t worry–I’m not mentioning names)…it got me thinking. About the best kind of makeover ever. The kind that only Christ can give. Maybe it’s an attitude makeover. Mine stinks sometimes. The “Before” pictures of this are not pretty, trust me. And then I wake up to reality, ask Him to help me change, and everyone’s much happier. But, maybe it’s not just your attitude that needs changing. Maybe it’s your whole life. Maybe you feel like the used-up, dust-covered junk that nobody knows what to do with & appears to have no worth. If this is you, you should know that God sent His Son to be your Savior. He can take the saddest of human cases and change them into something beautiful. He will be the Friend to you like no other friend you’ve ever known. And He’ll give you the assurance that you can have eternal life in Heaven. If you want to know more about how to have a changed life through Christ, please email me by clicking on my profile. It would be the best Before & After you’ve ever seen…
2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The best part about that is that it's FREE!
'For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.' Ephesians 2:8-9

Julie,
I love this "before and after article". I pray that you will see many "before and afters" come from your willingness to be a testimony for Him – if not down here, then up in heaven.
I was thinking of you while I was in Goodwill myself today. I didn't find any goodies to makeover, but i did find some clothing that will hopefully make me look like i had a makeover – got to do something about this weight. 🙂

OK, so first I read that you love topiaries and I love topiaries. And then I read that you're a real Christian and I know I really like you. Thanks for sharing.

I've been reading a lot of decorating blogs lately and competitions like So You Think You Can Decorate and also So You Think You're Crafty…and while I like all of them, I just found yours from a linky thing somewhere that led me to your "Whatchamacallit" post. I liked that one so much that I put you in my list of "favorites." Now, I see you're a Christian and that makes me love you even more 🙂
