Thrift Store Headboard Makeover
I’ve lost count by now of all the thrift store headboards I’ve made over through the years, but it’s been way too long since I’ve done my last! It just so happens that I had this one laying around in my basement from a 50% off sale at Goodwill I came across about 3 years ago. (It was a steal at $12.50!) And it also just so happens that I’m working on a makeover for Abby’s room. And this is just what we needed.
So, Dave hauled it uupstairs for us, then modified it to raise the height, and we got busy with the painting.
I chose Sherwin Williams’ Creamy for a nice classic off-white, and after a few coats, it was already hugely transformed.
And with a few gold accents with my favorite Liquid Leaf Classic Gold (click here for my affiliate link), it was done!
And so the fun will continue over the next couple weeks (at least!) while we work on our design plan. Follow me on Instagram if you’d like to see some progress along the way!
Meanwhile, here are a few more thrift store headboards I’ve done in the past! Click on the titles to see more!

Way to go! You really transformed all of them. I'm loving the white with touches of gold.

You sure made this a Princess headboard. Well done I love it. I made a backyard swing from a single bed head and foot board. It turned out great and I love to swing on it in my yard.
