Tips for Setting a Simple Elegant Easter Tablescape
As I’ve shared many times before, setting a beautiful table does not have to require spending a lot of money! Our table is set for Easter and I thought I’d share a few tips and techniques for getting the most pretty for your pennies!
First, I have a free printable of farmhouse letters you can use to create your own custom banner. Read all about it and get the download here. I love banners for celebrations and holidays. They’re perfect for hanging on mirrors, windows, walls, and more. Great way to make a nice backdrop for your table. I added my greenery garland I got at Hobby Lobby several months ago, as well as a few flowers from my faux florals collection.
Also from my collection were these flowers I arranged for the buffet. I have reused these so many times I’ve lost count, so I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth by now. The eggs in the glass jar were from the Target Dollar Spot. (I bought the egg garland and just pulled the string out!) The little “chocolate” bunny was a new Marshall’s find.
On the table, I used my favorite again: wrapping paper. I can’t stay away from this! Anytime I see a paper I like (usually from Marshall’s or TJ Maxx), I get it and store it away for my next tablescape. The key to this look is having layers. Start with a basic neutral table cloth, then add the wrapping paper as a runner. In this case, I also added this narrow linen runner on top for even more interest.

These napkins are actually dish cloths! I found this pack of 8 in this gorgeous blue for only $5 at Marshall’s and they’re perfect little napkins for this table!
By the way, basic white dishes are a great staple I recommend for pretty much any occasion. They don’t need to be fine china or an expensive brand. I picked this set out at Kmart before we got married and my aunt and uncle bought them for us for a wedding gift. All these years later, I still don’t want to upgrade! I haven’t seen this exact set since then, but this basic white and gold set would work for any occasion as well.
I used some baking cups to make some little Easter basket place card holders. Just fill the cups with a little moss and add candy eggs. The name tags are just paper tags glued to cut bamboo skewers.
I used these mini white Cadbury eggs (these are delicious, by the way!), and placed extra ones on the table in mini buckets like these, which I’ve used over and over in the past for different events.

The moss bunny was from the Target Dollar Spot last year, and the wood and marble crate was a recent find from Cracker Barrel! My favorite moss to use is this type of reindeer moss, which is a little more spongy and doesn’t make a lot of mess. It also retains its color so it can be used over and over!
One way to get the most from your fresh flowers is to make small bouquets and add greenery, whether real or faux. Since it’s best to keep flowers at a low height for tablescapes so guests can see each other without obstructions, I just used these small ironstone pitchers from my collection of pieces I’ve gathered through the years.
Almost every single item here, I’ve used and shown before for other tablescapes, but with a little creativity, they can take on a completely different look! I hope this gives you a little inspiration for your own next event!

I wish we had a Homegoods and a Marshalls and a Hobby Lobby and all the other creative places you speak about in your posts!!
Where I live (in Australia) we don’t have stores like that. Especially stores with good prices!
You make everything look beautiful, as always 🙂
