Making Pillows from Table Linens (and where I got Melody’s bedding!)
When I gave the hint on my Facebook page about using a tablecloth in Melody’s Master Bedroom Update, some of you guessed it was for everything from curtains to pillows to a headboard. And any of those could’ve been a great idea!
But the correct answer was the pillows!
I often shop the table linens aisle when I’m looking for great fabrics for pillows, and that’s where I found what I wanted for Melody’s room. And by doing that, I saved a lot of money.
The large bright ones were made from this tablecloth…
I only had to use about a third of it, and we stuffed all the pillows by repurposing some pillows Melody already had, so the cost for the pair was only around $5!
And the beaded turquoise pillows? Made from this table runner!
Table runners and placemats are great for making into pillows because they’re normally double-layered, so all you have to do is cut, stuff, and re-sew!
I even had plenty of the runner left to make another pillow using some remnants of ribbon from my own master bedroom makeover!
So, I was able to get 3 custom pillows from one table runner for a total of $17!
And as for the gorgeous bedding? That’s the Home Decorators Collection Hotel embroidered duvet cover and shams in Lapis Lazuli. It’s super-soft and great quality with 600-thread count cotton. You can even get it monogrammed! Click here to order for a great deal while they’re still in stock!
The yellow throw on the end of the bed is Nicole Miller found at TJ Maxx.
