I Don’t Really Have a Title for This Post
Yes, thatisa half-scorched toaster on my driveway right now. With the remains of a charred bagel still inside. That’s just the kind of week it’s been. And then there have been project deadlines and laundry that refuses to wash itself and Bible studies to try to find the strength to lead. And those were all the easy parts.
I’ve always tried to tell you allthat this blog is notreally as much about crafting, decorating, and “Do-It-Yourself” as it is life, faith, and how I really can’t do anythingmyself. I have to have theLord to lean on.
And so I must tell you thatit’s been a rough past several days. Someone very close to me is going through the hardest time of her life, which means it’s also one of the hardest times of mine. So there hasn’t been a lot of crafting or decorating going on to blog about. Just a lot of praying. And listening. And laughing so we don’t cry. And then some crying because we can’t hold it in anymore.
I may be a little slower at blogging for a little while so I can take on the role I need to be for now. But I will share a bit of wisdom that I’ve learned these past few days…
1. A lot of prayer and a big bag of Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos will help get you through even the worst of times. (This could lead to other problems later, but for now, it totally helps.)
Proverbs 31:25

I love love love the second picture. Speaks volumes–your bible on top of the decorating magazines–which if you are anything like me,the magazines don't get read. Just a lofty ambition. All you really need right now is the large cup of joe or tea and the Word of God to get you through.

Ah, but you are doing what is most important in life. Blogging, crafting, etc. are fun and rewarding endeavors but being there with a friend in the Word is the most important thing. Your friend is truly blessed to have you. But, I do think the Flamin' Cheetos would be a better pick. . . .

You're right! Times like these put things into perspective and remind me what's important. And I'll have to try the Flamin Cheetos next!

Life is all about mountain peaks and valleys, isn't it? Just know that your valley won't be forever..in fact, you are climbing to the peak again right now 🙂 Saying a prayer for you as you walk with your friend! Have you tried Raisonettes with popcorn?? They're my little guilty pleasure 🙂

Julie, I love your blog and the fact you reflect on real life. What you give is truly beauty beyond decorating and crafts. It is your heart. A friend gave me a quote when I was going through Breast Cancer-"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our spirits have trouble remembering how to fly." Anon You have my prayers for strength and peace for you and your friend. God BlessYou Both. -Debra

Praying for you right now. Life is really, really hard and Jesus said it would be so (John 16:33). Makes us long for our real Home.
