Classically Christmas Kitchen
I’m keeping it clean & simple in the kitchen this year for Christmas. And for the most part, I (once again) used what I had to come up with a Classically Christmas look on my kitchen mantle & stove top.
I just pulled together whatever I could find with gold on it, like my big “R” from Hobby Lobby & a few gold balls hung on some white sticks in a vase. (It’s a beautiful fire hazard, isn’t it? Don’t worry, they can be moved out of the way easily when the stove is in use.)
And my little grouping of stoneware, this time backed by a gold-rimmed platter…
I hung a wreath on my gold-framed chalkboard which was previously silver (…and turquoise before that, and gold before that). I did buy these little reindeer this year for just a few dollars each at Michael’s, & I love ’em.
And my vintage Santa & Mrs. Claus salt & pepper shakers from my grandmother fit in perfectly as well…
It’s understated, yes, but just the statement I was trying to make. Makes me want to turn on the Christmas music & bake something.

Julie, THIS is just lovely. Simple yet elegant, with a sweet touch of whimsey.
We also like to decorate using items we already have. It makes sense, don't we have things we really like in our homes so why not decorate with them?
I'm glad to know I have a decorating soul sister in blog land.

It's perfect to me, Julie! I don't put a lot in my kitchen either. Just enough I think to blend in with the rest of the house.

This is gorgeous! Can I have your kitchen for Christmas? You don't have to decorate it for me, I'll take it completely undecorated đŸ™‚ I have not started decorating any part of my house and I am envious of your beautiful kitchen! Just thought I would let you know đŸ™‚
