It’s Not Quite Christmas Until the Wreath’s on the Door
If you’ve been here for long, you know how I feel about a wreath on the door. A house is just naked without one. And no one wants a naked house. And even if you don’t think it necessary to don a wreath for most seasons, please, for the love of St. Nick, hang one for Christmas. And to save you the trouble of searching for just the right one, I’ll tell you the best place I know to get one. Angie’s Treasure Chest is a store on ebay that sells the best fresh wreaths I’ve seen. These are handcrafted from fresh balsam which Angie handpicks from her Maine woods to create a gorgeous custom wreath for your front door. Angie has been making wreaths for over 20 years now & she knows what she’s doing! And what makes these even more beautiful is the price! A 24″ full & fresh wreath is only $20 delivered to your door! She has a variety of other prices & sizes as well. You seriously cannot beat that. I first ordered from Angie last year & was so impressed with the size & freshness, I knew I’d use her again & again. Click here to visit her shop & see everything she has to offer. These would even make great gifts for your friends & family far & near! They come packaged in this cute Christmas box, perfect for a gift-giving.I have ordered mine undecorated for the past 2 years so I could customize them myself. Here’s my design for this year:This garland idea came to me when I first saw Pottery Barn’s “Happy Holidays” paper garland this year, and I got the idea to make 2 small banners & put them on my wreaths. I used a piece of leftover canvas drop cloth that I had used several months ago on this project. (FYI: These canvas drop cloths are so inexpensive, you could buy one just for this project & still come out cheaper than buying one PB garland.)To make the banners, I cut a couple of 4-inch wide strips to a length I wanted, & then used my large alphabet rubber stamps to spell out “Merry Christmas”. I cut the ends like a forked ribbon. Then I glittered the edges with plain white glue & red glitter. That’s it! I used my regular method of hanging the wreaths by using a staple gun to staple the ends of the ribbon to the top of my doors. I used a few pieces of thin wire to attach the banner to the wreath, then added some black polka-dot bows. Very simple, but I love them. Now my doors are ready to greet everyone who visits my house this Christmas. And don’t forget, sometimes the prettiest sight you see is the {wreath} that will be on your own front door!I’m sharing these wreathes with some of these parties…check them out!

Oh, Beautiful! The little banners and pretty bow are perfect! I agree, a wreath is important. Sometimes a wreath alone is all you need.
Always fun stopping by to visit with you!

Beautiful!! And a project that includes stamps & glitter sounds great! Thanks for the reminder that I'm still missing my holiday wreath & need to get a move on (now if this nasty cold would just hear me that I need to deck the halls and ring in some Christmas cheer, I'd be all set, right?! :>). Hope you have a wonderful weekend! :>
