New Pajamas & Lunch With Edie…It’s All So Exciting!
The other day I bought my 7-year-old some new pajamas & before I could navigate my way out of the Marshall’s parking lot, she had changed into them in the back seat. I think she must have a special talent for changing clothes while staying safely buckled, but nevertheless, she was so excited she couldn’t dream of waiting ’til bedtime to wear her new pj’s. And today I know how she felt. But, I didn’t get new pajamas. Edie came over for lunch. If you’re wondering who Edie is, you’re probably fairly new to blogland. She blogs here at Life in Grace. She’s a Blog Star, and if you read her, you love her. And the best part about her is that she’s even more fun in person. My best friend (Denise), my sister, & I are just 3 of Edie’s many followers, but that actually started way before the internet was ever thought of. We all knew her many years ago when we all went to church together as young girls. And if you’re wondering, she was even cool way back then. So, today, I hosted a little luncheon with Denise & Edie so we could catch up on the past 20-something years. We laughed, we snapped pics, we thought of people & times we haven’t thought of in years, then we laughed some more. I don’t even remember what we ate. I may have fed them peanut butter & jelly. It was more about who was on the chairs than what was on the table. Which is how I want to entertain from now on. I’m trying. When it was time for her to leave, we all agreed it was just too short. We had one more good laugh when one of us (who shall remain nameless), accidentally left the lights on on the truck & needed a jumpstart. Fortunately, we’re not just bloggers & crafters, we know our way around a set of jumper cables, too. And we have pics to prove it.It was a fun time. I wish my sister would have been in town so she could’ve been here. I wish I had a picture with Denise in it, too, but she was on the other side of the camera. (Edie snapped a few, but I’m too excited to wait for them.) I wish I had had a better hair day. But, most of all, I wish you could all meet Edie in person. But since that probably won’t happen, be sure to visit her blog & tell her I said “hey”!Love you, Edie! Come back soon…

Julie!
What a blessing you are to me! I'm so thankful that we've been able to reconnect—and you and Denise are just as wonderful and beautiful as I remember you to be. Your home is so inviting and I just love all the special projects you've done to make it perfect. So many precious memories of your family flooded my mind yesterday. I daresay that your father had more impact on me as a young person than anyone. I will forever be in his debt for showing Christ to me. I'm not at all surprised to see all his children walking so steadfastly in the faith.
And I would have loved to have seen your mom too, what a great lady!
Tell Denise it was just awesome to see her too. You girls made my day. We'll have to do it again. Thank you for your most gracious hospitality!
And I can't wait to blog about my canvases. Love them all.
Hugs and blessings,
edie
