So much talk about being thankful today! After all, this is the day to be just that! But, maybe there’s just that one or two of you reading this who are struggling just a little today. Yes, you’ve got a list in your mind somewhere of all those thing you’re thankful for, but you can’t seem to remember many of them just now. Circumstances have clouded your vision just a little and if you’re honest, you would opt to just skip the holidays if you could. I’ve noticed. I sometimes pass you on the street, I read between the lines of your Facebook posts and I’ve received your emails asking for prayer. And, yes, with the year I’ve had, I’ve even walked in your shoes a few times.

So, today, before the turkey is carved and the busy-ness of the day begins, take a moment to ask the Lord to help you remember. He knows how you’re feeling. He remembers that day He created us from plain ol’ dust. We’re weak sometimes and He gets that. And yet He loves us anyway and pursues us relentlessly. That alone is a huge thing to be thankful for today.

Need a littleprompting for your Thanksgiving list? Start here with Psalm 103. It’s agreat place to start…

Psalm 103

Bless theLord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless theLord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

TheLordexecuteth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

TheLordis merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so theLordpitieth them that fear him.

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

But the mercy of theLordis from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

TheLordhath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Bless theLord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

Bless ye theLord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Bless theLord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless theLord, O my soul.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
