Our Visit to Walk Your Plans Nashville

So many of you here and on my Instagram have been asking about and following our journey of our new house build on our property we found last year!  And although I don’t want to bore you with every detail of the progress, I do want to share when we take exciting steps toward our plan and this week was one of those steps!  We have been tweaking our plans with our architects over the past several months and we are now at the perfect stage to really make those final decisions.  Sometimes it is hard to envision spaces on a small screen or page and it makes you a little nervous when making a large investment on small-scale information. And then we found out about Walk Your Plans in Nashville!

This is a facility where they can take your house plans and project them in full scale so you can actually walk all over them, giving you an amazing perspective on your project!  And the even better news is that there are multiple locations across the US where you can do this, and they’re adding more all the time!

When we arrived at Walk Your Plans, we were welcomed by owners Amanda and James into their lovely lobby, right at home with a Nashville vibe, complete with custom signs welcoming us for our session!

Amanda gave us a very helpful and informative run-down of how things would go and how to best use their equipment, which was so fun and cutting-edge! They have everything you could need for noting changes on your plan, including a huge monitor where you can digitally draw any edits or notes you want to make (which they will email you right after your session!).  They also had a table of tape measures, blue tape, laser pointers and more at our disposal to make everything a very efficient and productive experience.

They even have a table of snacks and drinks right on the floor if you need a little refreshment while walking it out!

But the best part was taking a step into our front door and being able to walk all around our custom home!

This concept is exactly what home owners and also commercial architects and builders need to get that knowledge and confidence to pull the trigger on a huge investment and feel good about it. You can even use this for landscapes, pools, and more!

We walked over our entire plan and Dave even tried out the bed haha!  And even after the several changes we have made over the last months to perfect our plan, we were able to see things we had not even noticed yet and tweak a few more things that we definitely needed to see!  And we left feeling more confident and excited about our plans than ever.
