Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas

If it’s your turn to host Thanksgiving this year, you’ve got enough on your “plate” to figure out a menu, so let me help you with some easy ideas for your table! I shopped my house, mixed up some old and new, and did a little paper-crafting to get this tablescape for just a few dollars, and you can, too!

You don’t have to have a full set of gorgeous Thanksgiving china for the table. A basic white set works for any occasion and you you can add color and texture by adding a pretty napkin or an interesting place card. I’ve had my set since I got married and I use it all the time! (If youdon’t have any, here’sa really cute monogrammed set on Amazon that would be awesome for yourself or a gift!)

For some color, I used patterned paper to cut a large feather, then added a little name tag to mark each place. Both the paper and the tags were from Hobby Lobby, and this free feather pattern worked perfectly! This is so simple, even the kids can help.

The centerpiece consists of some dried natural wheat and a few faux feathers I’ve used in the past, placed in a vase you’ve seen me use many times as well. And the boxwood urns are a Marshall’s find that are a great staple for any season!

A boxwood wreath like this one I bought at Target works for any season, as well, especially if you add a message banner! Don’t forget: you can easily make an erasable chalkboard banner from black poster board like I posted about here. I still do this all the time!

And for a bountiful bouquet that doesn’t break your bank account, buy a small bunch from your favorite market, then add greenery from your own yard to fill it out! It’s my little secret for getting a large arrangement for a small price.

And because I’m super-sentimental, I always display my Mamaw’s turkey platter somewhere for Thanksgiving. She’ll be celebrating her first Thanksgiving in Heaven this year, along with my dad, and we’ll be spending lots of time talking about them, remembering them, and missing them!

Whether you decide to set an elaborate table, or use simple ideas like these, or serve up your favorite foods on paper plates–remember this: the most important part of the meal is who you’re with. Take some time to savor the moments together and speak to eachother about all thethings you’re thankful for!
