I still love the look but don't have one. I wonder about the dust because we had a giant chalkboard on my son's wall when he was little and it was dusty.

I vote for OPI Red. 🙂

Good point, Stacey! I know I'll have to deal with a little dust because I always use real chalk, dust and all! But, I think it maybe worth it 🙂

I love the chalkboard look too….didn't do a wall but I did my double pantry doors! Still love them!!
Will say that it can be dusty but not typically a big deal.

You can't go wrong with red…all year.

I have one, as you know, and I still love it (although it is fairly new). I hope they're not on their way out, because I'm still crazy about them. I vote for a colored chalkboard wall for something a little different. Either way, if you get tired of it, you could always clean the chalk off and make it just an accent wall…maybe even stencil a pattern on it. Definitely surprise your husband…you know what they say about it being easier to ask forgiveness than permission. 🙂 And maybe a more muted coral for fall toenails. 🙂 Good luck! Whatever you decide, I know it will be gorgeous just like the rest of your house.

I have had one for almost 5 years since we moved in our house ( a small wall in my kitchen) and I love it! sometimes I do really beautiful planned out chalkboard art and other times like now it says stuff like "Happy Birthday Daddy" lol. I don't even care if they are on their way out – I am planning to paint the big wall in my craft room with chalkboard paint also (though maybe it will be grey!) because I just LOVE them so much!!

I have a huge framed chalkboard… think entrance door size. I love it… But being afraid of commitment, it works for me. (read:basically lazy, seriously who really wants to paint walls?!) So that what works for me… But I do love it, I would take a picture but right now it's just a black space since I haven't had a lot of time lately. One more thing… I totally use my chalk board for inspiration and creativity for me. It is not a to do list… chore keeper or anything like that… I hope mine sparks positive energy…

I'm with you on that! I actually have debated just doing a framed board in the space, but I have a feeling it would be easier to just paint the wall! And I'll definitely use mine for art & creativity. Can't wait!

I love the look of chalk board walls, I think they would be so fun to change up for every season! Also, I vote for a true red on your toes for this time of year!
