This is SO cute… I've had a coffee cozy on my to-do list for some time now. I would never have thought of making a sweater cozy. So glad I didn't make it yet, haha! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

What a cute idea! I have made these with fabric but I would have never thought to use a sweater!

Hi Julie, I just found your blog from a meme. This is so funny I did the same thing yesterday and have a sweater laying here to make one of the cozies. I will be back to visit because I am a follower now.

Love this idea. Definitely great Christmas gifts. Thanks for the tutorial. Although I'm a little confused too. =)

    "…sweater piece & my coordinating fabric…"

Am I missing something? I don't see any fabric besides the sweater.

    Thanks!

If you click on the link to the tutorial, you'll see it requires an exterior fabric & a lining fabric…I used the sweater piece as my exterior & a plain piece of off white fabric as my lining. You can see it a little in my pic below my sweater. Hope that helps you!

Ahh this is a fabulous idea. I taught my fifth and sixth grade students how to knit this year so they could make coffee sweaters for their parents. This looks a lot more manageable!!! 🙂 These are the ones we made: http://betterthanamilkmustache.blogspot.com/2010/12/every-other-day-of-week-is-fine.html

Also, your post about your son made my heart melt and I don't even know him. What a nice kid you have!! And he's lucky to have a mom like you, that's for sure!

I don't have a sewing machine, but I'm quite good (ish) at hand sewing! Is it possible to do this by hand sewing ??
