Lemon Branch Hoop Wreath
They say the more things change, the more they stay the same. Well, I’m not sure if that’s true of everything, but it can definitely be said of my hoop wreaths! Since I first shared my how-to for them HERE over 3 years ago, I’ve continued to use them– but in many different ways! I’ve switched them up several times now for all the seasons, and my latest one shares my latest love– lemons!
Like most of you, I’ve been dying for Spring to appear, so I’ve been adding Spring decor here and there all over the house. This little project only took a few minutes, which is one of the things I love about these hoop wreaths. And since I had a hoop that I’ve used on previous wreaths and the stems I needed, it was even easier. Here’s all I used for this one…

18″ Gold Metal Ring
Faux Lemon Branches
Faux Magnolia Leaves
Floral Wire
Striped Wired Ribbon
The first thing I did was to simply bend the stems of the lemon branches a few times to shorten them. I rarely cut faux floral stems to give me the option to re-use them at longer lengths later if I want to! After bending them, I simply wired them onto the bottom of the ring…
There’s no need to be concerned about the wiring showing because it will be covered by the ribbon later. The next step is where I simply wired on a few magnolia leaves just above the lemon branches on each side to fill it out and give it a little more green texture. If you have a bush of magnolia leaves or if they’re attached to a stem, simply pull or cut them to separate.
Once the greenery is how you like it, it’s time for the ribbon! I chose a black and white striped wired ribbon for this. To make this bow, I first cut a piece of ribbon to about 24 inches in length and just tied it over wired stems at the bottom center.
Next, take another length of ribbon about 36 inches long and fold it into about 4 loops, squeezing it together at the center…
Place the folded loops over the knot of the other ribbon already tie onto the wreath.
Then cut one last length of ribbon approximately 12 to 24 inches long and just simple-tie it over from the back of the hoop over all the stems and ribbons to the front, holding it all together!
This may sound complicated, but it is really simple and perfect for wreaths!
Here is a quick recap of these steps in action!
I always hang these wreaths with a ribbon that I enclose in the window opening at the top. If you do not have slide-down windows, you can also hang this with a suction cup hook!
Also–did you notice more changes in this breakfast room?? We got the new chandelier hung and I am loving it in here just as much as I love it in the powder room! And the table and chairs are still making me swoon every single day! Shop these pieces by clicking on the photos below and I’d love to know if you decide to make one of these lemon wreaths for yourself!

Love it! This may be a crazy question but what do you have wrapped around your pliers? Mine drive me crazy when I’m using them and something like that may help. Thanks!
