Fresh Winter Decor Inspiration
Remember last week when I had planned to post about some winter decor inspiration but the unexpected kinda took over? Well, it’s a new week now and time to try again! And this week, with cloudy and cold days threatening some kinds of precipitation or other, I’m in even more of a mood to get this house feeling fresh for winter. As much as I’d love to rush into all things Spring, I’m pretty sure we might see some snow before then, and I definitely can’t skip Valentine’s Day! So for those of you trying to figure out how to get the house to have a fresh winter feel in these transitional months, here are a few inspirational ideas!
Almost every one of these ideas start with some kind of white. It’s just so appropriate for winter, especially if there’s snow! I admit, I love white all year, but here are a few ideas to make it work in winter…
First, throw on some throws. Fur ones, to be specific, and preferably white! I have collected several of these over the years, and I pull them out from late fall til Spring to not only keep us cozy, but to give the house a cozy style as well. Right now, I even have a fur throw on the settee in the breakfast room because I wanted to keep things fresh and light looking in here.
You may also recognize my Magnolia hoop wreath that I first posted about HERE. I brought it back out as well because it is definitely fitting for any season and I love the life it adds to this space!
And speaking of Magnolia leaves and white fur throws, I’ve got the same combination going on in my bedroom with my winter bedding.
And here are a few more white bedrooms I love with cozy fur accents…

And this look is one of my absolute faves because of that Dalmatian dot headboard alone. Animal print is always a great winter look!

Here’s another great space that not only includes animal print, but another of my winter favorites: velvet.

I absolutely love a bold velvet against lots of white. Could you commit to a sofa like one of these??

I would love one one day, but for now, I could definitely do bold velvet on white like I’ve done in the past…
Currently in our family room, I have my green velvet chair with our wintery fur ottoman for a cozy feeling. And keeping it fresh on the mantle, I kept up the boxwood garland after Christmas and added a little more greenery here and there to give this room some life. It’s amazing how a little greenery can do that.
I hope you’ve been able to gather a little inspo to keep your house feeling bright and cozy during these cold winter months. And for those of you in tropical locations, don’t rub it in too much!
