Buster
He won’t be bringing me my slippers or warning me of strange sounds in the night.
And he’ll never be one of my best friends.
I wasn’t even sure where I would put him at first, but none of those things matter. It was love at first sight when I spotted him at one of our favorite antique stores recently. And even my husband agreed he belongs in our house.
I know it doesn’t make sense that I love doggy decor when I don’t even own a dog. But that’s part of the process of transforming a house a home. To others, it may seem like there is no rhyme or reason. But you make your own rhymes and you have your own reasons.
I can’t even tell you what kind of dog he is (maybe some of you dog people can help me out), but I named him Buster. Partly because the name just fit and partly because he’s made of cast iron and he could really do some damage if he gets dropped onsomething.
But we’re having fun with him. And I think he likes us, too.
What non-useful thing have you brought into your home lately just because you believe it’s beautiful?

I love buster! I too have an affection for dog figurines. I am a firm believer in no rhyme or reason needed in design!
