Your parents look great! And the party looks fabulous!! I'm having my girlfriend come to my daughters birthday party in Sept. to take pictures, but I'm always start off great and then get too busy. So with her help, I won't miss any photo opportunities, and were doing a little photo booth too.

Oh, I so agree – I even prefer a simple party, and the focus is on the people and not so much on the lavish decor. It was just a stroke of genius to use their original wedding colors!

Simply elegant. What a beautiful job. The details you thought of, even on a budget, show how much you love your parents. I loved seeing the enlarged wedding picture…timeless. Your mom looks like she could be celebrating her 40th birthday not 40th anniversary.

Julie, your party warmed my heart, what a wonderful gift for your parents. Not the gift of a fancy catered party but the gift of children who took the time to make everything personal and loving for a special day. Thanks for sharing.

Julie, I love every bit of this! I have one question-what did you do for invitations? I hope you don't mind if I steal all of these great ideas for my 30th anniversary party this summer!

So glad you like it, Shannon! We really didn't do formal invites for this- as I recall, we just sent informal evites! Have fun planning yours!
