Metallic Heart Initials Canvas
So, this week there have been more goings-on with the Master Bedroom makeover. Just a few more pillows to sew and tchotchkes to place, and then I’ll be ready to show it to you all. It’s turned out to be one of the funnest rooms I’ve done in a while and I’m really excited about it.
But for today, I’ve got another little piece of the room to show you. It’s a simple, 10-minute project that can add a little custom art to your space for just a few dollars.
Start with a canvas in the size of your choice. I used an 8×8, which was on sale at Hobby Lobby (always a bonus!).
For paint, I used the Dazzling Metallics in Glorious Gold by DecoArt– also from Hobby Lobby, or you can find it for a great deal here.
And for the initials, I chose these puffy white stickers by the Thickers brand. Again, from Hobby Lobby, but they can be bought online here. (If you choose a different style of sticker, be sure there is an ampersand if you are doing 2 initials.)
So, then, just simply make a heart stencil for a pattern or use something you have around the house in a heart shape.
Trace around the heart very lightly with a pencil…
Then place the stickers on and make sure they are securely stuck on the canvas.
Then, just paint! If one coat isn’t quite enough, let it dry for a few minutes, then add a second coat.
And voilá! You have a custom art piece.
I am loving mine in my new bedroom! I know it’s a tad late for Valentine’s Day, but pin it and save it for next year or make it just because.
Master Bedroom reveal coming soon!
