Spring Decorating and Loving Our Nest
When I was a child, my favorite book was The Best Nest by P.D. Eastman. It was all about a bird that sang a little song about how much he loved his nest. Then, his wife decided she didn’t like their nest anymore, so they went in search of a better one! They searched high and low for a place that was better than what they had, but there was something wrong with every choice and nothing was working out for them! Finally, they both realized that the best nest for them was the nest they already had. Such a cute little lesson, and I loved it so much, I even referenced it in my first blog post so many years ago!

The theme of loving our nest and making it ours has continued for nearly 1000 posts now and no one is more shocked by that than I am! Though the projects may have changed, my decorating style may be more up-to-date, and my pictures a better quality now, one thing is the same: I still love every part of making a house a home and how it has become a reflection of who we are. And with Spring around the corner, I styled the breakfast room with a few of my favorite things.
I’ve had lots of interest lately in my easy hoop wreath, so if you’d like more info on the how-to, click here. It really does make me happy to look at it!
These little ducks are from a local shop I love. Aren’t they the cutest?
And you may remember the black and white checked wreath I made for Christmas by wrapping a basic straw wreath with fabric. Well, it turns out that it’s easy to transform for Spring just by adding a few flowers! I pinned them on in seconds with a few straight pins! And the faux wood sign has been a piece I’ve loved since I made it back in the fall! Click here for the how-to on that.
And you may have seen on my Instagram how I styled the bar cart with flowers for Lily’s birthday recently. Well, I couldn’t resist leaving it just a little longer! I’m just enjoying them while they last!
I hope you’re enjoying your nest and maybe even doing some Spring decorating of your own! Can you believe it’s March already??

Does the local shop that sold the ducks do mail order? I would love a set if so!

I honestly don’t know! They don’t have an online shop, but maybe they would send you some! Here’s their site– http://www.figandcompany.com
