Last week, we had several beautiful days that had me ready to spruce up the screened porch for Spring. It’s still a little chilly to go all out, but I chalked up a little Rocky Top chalk art, and then decided to add one more simple touch by adding a state of Tennessee chalkboard!

It was so easy, it only took about 15 minutes from start to finish. I thought some of you would like to add a little of your own state love in your decor, so I’m sharing the quick how-to! I started with a basic foam board, which looks like a chalkboard but does not erase like one. This will work fine if you just want the look of a chalkboard, but not erase it. If you’d like to be able to actually erase and use the board like a real chalkboard, this product is awesome and very affordable as well! Either way, the how-to will be the same!
Then, you need to print out the outline of your state and trace around it with a pencil.
Then, using an X-acto knife like this one, carefully cut the lines of your pattern.
Then, just attach some string or twine with some hot glue for hanging…
I told you it was simple!
Add a little star to mark your home town for a little more love!
This would be a cute gift for new home owners, newly-weds or anyone who just loves their state! So fun and easy! Hope you love it too!
